Flax seeds, sometimes called linseeds, are rich in plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, as well as minerals. It is no surprise that flax seeds are a superfood and in fact have been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Flax seeds may be taken to help protect against cancer, lower cholesterol, improve heart health, reduce blood pressure, support digestive health, prevent constipation, aid with weight loss, help control blood sugar levels, and decrease symptoms related to menopausal and hormonal imbalance.
