Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker that is commonly used in the treatment of high blood pressure and chest pain (angina). It is also used in the treatment of rapid heart rate (tachycardia). Verapamil is used off-label as a preventative treatment for migraine headaches, and there is some evidence that it can work to enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in halting tumor progression.
